Cards for Soldiers Workshop
You are invited to join Cindy and Jackie at Checkered Cottage to create cards that our soldiers can send home to their families and friends for
holidays or special events that occur while they are out of the country. We host this event once a month with holidays changing monthly, but you
are not restricted to create only holiday cards. You bring in your supplies to create and share ideas with other fellow cardmakers. A 10% discount
is offered in the shop during this time if you wish to make any purchases. If you are not able to attend our monthly card night - we do accept cards
daily in the store and they will be mailed out once a month to the soldiers. All monetary donations towards shipping costs are appreciated. We have the
Operation Write Home stamp available in our shop that needs to be put on the back of every card. The requirements on what can and can not be on a
card can be found at www.operationwritehome.org along with the schedule for the mailing of certain holidays. No glitter can be used on a card.

Catch up Monday - FREE
Are you having a hard time keeping up with all your paper projects? Joins us on the last Monday of the month from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. to catch up on your unfinished paper projects. We will spend the evening working on whatever projects you bring and Jackie will be here to help. You can bring your dinner in or order from one of the many restaurants in the area. As with embossing club – any purchases made during the evening will receive a 10% discount.
Cottage Club - FREE
Checkered Cottage is pleased to announce the formation of a paper arts club. The first Tuesday of each month from 6:30 – 8:30 P.M. will be reserved for our club. Bring your templates, stamps, paper, etc. and work on embossing, scrap booking, or Pergamano. You may work with the Wizard, purchase supplies, and share ideas all while enjoying the company of fellow crafters. There is no fee and you will receive a 10% discount on purchases made that evening. Please keep in mind that this evening it NOT a class night. Judi is here in the same capacity as any other club member, to work on projects and enjoy the fellowship and camaraderie of fellow embossers. We hope you can come and join in the fun of the evening while completing a project.
Private Class Parties
Checkered Cottage will do a private class of 5 or more people on any of our class projects. You can bring in your own beverages and food if you like and we will set you up with the paper goods you need. We have hot tea bags, hot chocolate, hot spiced cider, and water that are available for anyone’s use during a class. All private class participants will receive a 20% discount on any shopping done in the store that day and the hostess of the party will also receive a $10 punch card. We do welcome children’s classes in the summer for embossing projects with Jan Conway for ages 8 and up
Bring a Friend Incentives
Classes - Sign up a new student to take a class with you and you will receive a $10 punch. This card may be used on future purchases or class fee. Offer good for one student only per class.
Class Policies
- Payment is required at signup.
- Cancellations up to 1 week in advance are refundable.
- Cancellations after 1 week and up to 48 hours in advance of class date are transferable.
- Cancellations made less than 48 hours of the class date are non-refundable.

Competitor Coupons
Previous 40% off coupons from Michaels, Joanns, and Hobby Lobby will now be accepted at 30% off only. The coupon can not be used in conjunction with any specials we have in the store or with your punch cards. The coupon can not be used on class fees, gift certificates, magazines, and consignment merchandise. This is a courtesy to you, our customer, and we hope everyone honorably follows our exceptions so we can continue to accept these coupons. One coupon per person per week please.
Store Refund Policies
Punch Cards – Limit 2 redeemed per visit – There is no punches on commission or jewelry merchandise. All sales are final on special order stencils, brass templates, wood kits, and books. Without a receipt you will receive an in-store credit on any other purchases returned.
